With fall quickly approaching, it's time to take a look into our closets and begin assembling our cold weather wardrobe. This means we are swapping out our summer shorts for on trend trousers and sweaters. These few closet essentials are the building blocks for your fall closet and will ensure a stylish and fashion-forward look for the entire season.

Mock Neck or Turtleneck

An essential for your everyday fall closet is a long sleeve mock or turtleneck. This top is a base for a wide variety of possible looks. Keep it simple with jeans and colored jacket or dress it up with a skirt and some boots. This top is also vital for layering. Switch up a look by layering a dress or spaghetti strap top. You can also elevate a simple T-shirt look by popping on a turtleneck under, for and on trend streetwear look.

Black Boots

A staple shoe of the fall is a classic black boot. Whether that's high boots, combat boots, or booties, you need a pair this fall. Knee high boots are super trendy this season, often paired with mini dress or A-line skirt. A classic combat boot goes with everything from dresses to jeans and can easily add dimension and a more laid back look. For a more classy appearance, add a pair of black booties to your outfit.

Blazers

A blazer can elevate any look to be more classy and stylish. This oversized coat is no stranger to both the streets and office halls. This jacket adds an element of sophistication to a simple look. Patterned blazers are an easy way to add texture and color to a solid look or switch up the silhouette of a mini dress.

Straight Leg Pants

High waisted straight leg pants are a must have this fall! This 70’s inspired trend has been inching its way back into our closet this year and will make its full comeback thi season. This straight legged silhouette helps to dress up a look without resorting to a dress or skirt. Mix and match color, patterns, and fabrics for a unique and trendy look.

Cardigans

Button up cardigans are a basic closet staple that are taking over fall trends. This simple sweater is seen all over the streets fashioned in bright pastels, printed trims, and delicate buttons. The top goes with all types of bottoms and can be styled in several different ways. The most current and trendy way to wear a cardigan is with only a couple buttons done. This is a less conservative way to wear the shirt, creating more of a modern cropped look.

Corduroy

If there was an official fabric of the fall, it would most definitely be corduroy. This fall, there is a fresh color pallet of corduroy that are not typically seen. Though the traditional golden brown corduroy is not completely out the picture, more unique colors are being worn this season. There is so much opportunity with corduroy silhouettes easily worn as tops, trousers, or jackets. Mix up your outfit with a bright corduroy piece for a chic and fashion-forward fall look.
