Fashion Icons That Shaped My Wardrobe Today

My fashion obsessions!

I was five years old when I hosted my first fashion show. It consisted of mismatching princess costumes and oversized shoes from my mom’s closet, but it’s one of my most fond childhood memories. I knew from a young age that I had a deep love for fashion, but it wasn’t until high school that I really began to build my personal style and invest time into it. Though the field is vast and full of incredible creators and stars, I find myself drawn repeatedly to the same five. These icons have shaped my wardrobe and grown my passion for fashion.

Ashley Best Dressed

Ashley “Best Dressed” is not only a style icon but also an advocate for sustainability. Her commitment to thrifting and flipping second-hand clothing is what inspired me to explore upcycling myself. Ashley’s unique and vintage clothing has influenced my wardrobe significantly and encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone when creating an outfit. Aside from her impeccable taste in clothes, she is an incredibly talented and hard-working individual who has worked her way up to the success she possesses now.

Kendall Jenner

Opposite from Ashley, Kendall Jenner has been in the spotlight from a very young age. We all watched her grow up on the reality show “Keeping up with the Kardashians,” and she now graces the stage of several high fashion shows. In addition to taking over the catwalk, Jenner has been dominating street style. Infamously known for her all-black sleek looks and incomparable method of dressing up casual wear, Jenner has heavily influenced my personal style. I often draw inspiration from all Jenner's looks, from everyday wear to red carpet gowns.

Blair Waldorf

It’s no secret that the show “Gossip Girl” is filled with style icons that inspire fashion lovers all around the world, but Queen B definitely takes the crown. She is a classic beauty, with a bold disposition. Her preppy and chic wardrobe never fails to impress. Waldorfs classic 40's and 50's inspired wear looks consistently stunning and elegant. I have always been enchanted by the character and often channel her style when trying to achieve a feminine and classy look. Not to mention that Blair Waldorf is also the root of my ongoing headband obsession.

Zendaya

At only 24 years old, actress and style icon Zendaya has become one of the most prominent stars of our generation. Effortlessly transforming feminine dresses into an edgy look and hitting the streets boldly adorned in menswear, Zendaya’s style demands nothing but admiration. Her ability to confidently combine strength and femininity has been a positive influence on both myself and my wardrobe!

Audrey Hepburn

No person has ever captured the hearts of the fashion industry more than the lovely Audrey Hepburn. For decades she has been a staple for style and beauty, and her status still remains today. Personally, I adore all of Hepburn’s wardrobe, but her classic and ageless little black dress influences my closet the most. My black dress collection has grown significantly due to Audrey Heburn's chic and classy style.
