My Favorite Trends of 2020

And that's a wrap 2020...

With 2020 finally coming to an end, I’ve reflected upon this year in its entirety. Though 2020 has definitely been one filled with many challenges, disappointment, and unmet expectations one thing that never fails to thrive is the ongoing rise and fall of clothing trends. No matter the circumstance of the world, creative minds and style icons never fail to engage me in new and upcoming trends. Entering a new year gives me a new sense of hope and excitement, I think the fashion industry matches that elation. But before we rush too fast into 2021, here are six of my favorite 2020 trends.

Low Rise Pants

They’re back and better than ever! Yes, every 90’s girl fantasy jeans have been spotted over several runways, including Gucci, Calvin Klein, and Marc Jacobs. The Gucci Fall 2020 Show contained low-rise fit pants in their menswear collection, exploring many different silhouettes, colors, and patterns. Very soon after, low rise jeans were seen in everybody’s closet and on several fashion icons we love!

Satin

Satin has always been one of my favorite fabrics, giving a naturally chic and classy aurora. From dresses and skirts, to shirts and scarves, satin elevates your look significantly. I have worn satin for countless occasions this past year and will definitely continue to do so in 2021.

Brown on Brown

The past 2020 seasons have been dominated by all shades of brown. Shades ranging from chocolate brown and tan to light neutrals and beige were splashed across runways and in stores. Pulling off the divisive color without looking bland and boorish can be tricky, but when executed correctly brown has an overall chic aurora.

Corsets

The modern revival of corsets definitely takes the cake for my favorite trend of the year. The delicate and feminine undergarment can be worn in an array of ways. Corsets have spotted on runways, as streetwear, and on several celebs ranging from Lizzo to Bella Hadid. Once worn as a way to conceal women’s bodies, it now is a form of female empowerment that embraces each unique body shape.

Leather pants

Leather pants have definitely been the bottom style that nobody realized they needed but cannot live without! The sleek and polished look of the pants has endless style possibilities. My personal favorite style option is pairing unexpected color combos like green and black. The contrast of the bright color and dark pants always seems to turn heads! Casual or dressed up, leather pants are a go-to styler staple for your closet.
