Celebrities are infamous for going all out on Halloween costumes and this year will be no exception. The best costumes are determined based on style, subject, and execution. Some of the greatest are costumes are classic looks or figures while others are a unique display of glam and creativity. Whether you like dressing up in costume or not these Celeb looks are undeniably iconic. So if you are not sure of what you want to dress as for Halloween this year, here is some inspiration from the top ten most iconic costumes in the last five years!


Lupita Nyong’o as Dionne from Clueless

In 2018 Lupita Nyong’o attended Hedi Klum’s annual Halloween party dressed as Dionne from the 90’s classic movie “Clueless.” The look was executed perfectly, with each aspect of the costume executed down to a tee. From the black and white print skirt set to knee-high heels, Nyong’o didn’t miss a single detail. She even matched the character's eye color sporting green contact lenses. Can this classic look be topped? Ugh! As if!


Harry Styles as Elton John

Elton John’s flamboyant style of dress was the perfect fit for Harry Style’s 2018 Halloween look. The sparkly dodgers uniform is a Rocket Man staple and Styles naturally nailed the look. Both celebrities often don gender-bending clothing so it’s an obvious fit.



The Weeknd and Bella Hadid as Beetlejuice and Lydia

Tim Burton’s films are a classic for Halloween and Bella Hadid and The weekend’s recreation of Beetlejuice Bridal look was spot on. Hadid’s custom-made, tulle layered, red dress and matching veil and gloves were incredibly accurate to the movie's Winona Ryder. It complimented the Weekend’s Beetle juice groom outfit perfectly.


Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas as Gomez and Morticia Addams from The Addams Family

Another couples look featured in 2018 was Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas as Gomez and Morticia Addams from The Addams Family. Tuner’s black bodycon dress with a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit was definitely a head-turner. She took the look and extra mile white ghostly white makeup and a black wig. The gothic look was finished nicely with Jonas by her side in an all-black, sleek look.


Halima Aden as Maleficent

Model Halima Aden dressed as the classic Disney villain maleficent. Not only is the feather coat and leather horns an above and beyond look, but it is also what she called a “hijab friendly Halloween costume.” She finished off the look with her own spin on Maleficent’s makeup.


Kendall Jenner as a woodland fairy

The Kardashians are known for their above and beyond costumes and Kendall Jenner’s 2019 Halloween birthday look was no exception. The golden sparkly Youself Al Jasmi dress featured feather-like fabric, with a fitted bodice, and voluminous skirt was stunning. Jenner finished off the look with glittery wings and an antler crown. It’s safe to say the look was a birthday fairytale!


Saweetie as every member of Destiny's Child

Saweetie surprised us all when she managed to pull off dressing as every member of the iconic 90’s trio, Destiny’s Child. She recreated the cover photo for the “bootylicious” music video as well as the video itself. It is one thing to capture the unique R&B look of one legend, but Saweetie nailed all three!


Kylie Jenner, Stassie Karanikolaou, and Friends as the Power Rangers

Another Kardashian look that makes the top ten list is Kylie Jenner and Friend’s power ranger outfit. Leave it to Kylie Jenner to take the regular power ranger and create a fabulous and sexy look. The all-red monochrome outfit definitely did not disappoint!


Kaia Gerber as Joan Jett

Kaie Gerber took the punk rock look to the next level when she dressed as Joan Jett. The 17-year-old model was almost unrecognizable in a black shaggy wig, leather pants, and combat boots. The fake tattoos and dark eye makeup pulled the edgy outfit together.


Winnie Harlow as RuPaul 2020

Winne Harlow served up a unique and creative costume with her recreation of RuPaul’s 1994 photoshoot. The red corset, thigh-high boots, and blonde wig was nothing short of incredible.
